I heard this song (as well as "Sultans of Swing") on the radio all the time in my 20's. I'd also heard of the group "Dire Straits" but had no idea that group did these songs. Unlike the verse in the song I DIDN'T like MTV. It was a premium pay channel but the glimpse I'd had of it at friends' homes didn't inspire me to get it.

You are right. I didnt like this version of mfn when i 1st heard it but now i love it. Overall i think queen were better than everyone else, probably becuase they played so many songs. Felt like they were on more than 20 mins. Dire Straits were 2nd best for me on that day. Cant remember what any of the other performances were like as queen and ds are the only ones i have watched recently.

This song brings back so many memories for me. My dad had this on vinyl and I remember growing up, I was probably 6 or 7 years old. Because I'm lucky enough to have parents that birthed me while they were still basically kids themselves. My father was 21 when I was born. l remember listening to this, blaring on my dad's stereo while he washed his car.I love my parents.I even remember watching the video on MTV 😁
