I remember once sharing this song with a skanky woman I used to consider a friend. She didn't appreciate its obvious greatness and said something about just not liking Roger's voice. I found myself in the surreal position of actually apologizing for Roger's voice. I have much more integrity now.

Always remember this; This is an album, a story of a VERY disturbed young man. Its the story of many of us as well. Roger and the boys, Bravo!!!!This was my first album,back in 1973-or4 I understood it then, and still do. We all grow up, only some of us truly learn to accept, and live with who we really are. " I went to my mother, I said I'm crazy ma' help me. She said I know how it feels son 'cuz it runs in the family" Learning to live with the "normal" people is the hard part. BUT, it is cheap entertainment, and they never seem to run out of rediculous things to laugh at. ( yes Pelosi, I'ma talkin' bout you!!) Had to do that!!

When i was young, and it was not ok for me to talk about sex -because for some strange reason it was ok for every one, including my siblings to speak plainly, i would start just bursting out this song. Trust me -i got the attention i craved. But i never got an answer as to why i was some exception to sex when every one else was talking & doing right in front of me ...& my family was not Catholic.I had figured that it was just a conspiracy to keep my passive, observant genes from the pool. O well. They succeeded. I am 40+ with no children, because i am thick about life.

This LP is a masterpiece. There will never be another work of art like this (except maybe 'Tommy'). The Who, in my opinion, was and still is the best rock band ever. I always thought Roger D. was the voice of my generation (terribly underrated). His voice is so powerful that it rocks you to the core. Pete Townsend was the brains behind The Who. This band meant so much to me when I was growing up. Every teenager alive needs to listen to The Who, it will change their life.

This song made me realize that Rock music can be intelligent and moving when I was just 14.And it showed me what Keith Moon sounded like falling into his Orchestral Percussioin gear behind him at the end :D Yup. Thats what you're hearing at the very end of the song. Lol. We love you Keith.

I was 24 in 1973. I don't know if any of you know about an LSD variety, Orange Double Dome. I was tripping while watching the movie Quadrophenia. Back in the day.

My high school boyfriend understood the feeling of this song. I wish my lovely parents could have felt the full velocity of this composition.

In the 80's at rich stadium in Buffalo NY, it started raining when this began. Rain stopped at the end of the song and Roger walked to the front of the stage put his hand out feeling for the rain that wasn't there and said " even The Rolling Stones can't do that"!
