I lost it when the guitar solo came Gilmour 🔥

  7. Craig Novo

to me this song, apart from just being brilliant and great, is a nod to Roger Waters."...The water flowing…"It seams obvious to me, especially when you take a closer look at the "balloon Scenes" in the Video.I think Gilmour knew that this song may be something like an turning Point, like the last big, heavy, complicated Pink Floyd Song. It can be seen as a retrospective to the whole of Pink Floyd and how the travel in time and space has been for them. All that wouldn't make any sense if you excluded Roger Waters.

So many references to past albums, members and songs. For example, "the endless river for ever and ever" referred to Syd Barrets song "see Emily play", Floyd's 2nd single. For me this represents closure. Syd Barretts statue sailing in the sunset was the tear-jerker for me. Thank you pink floyd

  30. Marc Cremer

    Brasil aqui... love much

  41. Paul Attard

One of those rare pieces of music that can make me cry. The older man reminiscing on what was and mulling over what could have been, finally realizing that life is larger than each and everyone of us, and that you can never win. So sad, so poignant, so beautiful. Coming from a rock star who reached such "dizzy heights", I'd add: so humble.

  42. Martin Navarro

No me canso de disfrutar cada instante de estas melodías, esas son las que te llevarás de viaje por siempre!!!!

  43. Stephen Perryman

Amazing Group and Amazing Guitar Playing. David Gilmore is amongst a very few of the very best. Would love to see a reunion concert!! 👍

HIGH HOPES LYRICS[Verse 1]Beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were youngIn a world of magnets and miraclesOur thoughts strayed constantly and without boundaryThe ringing of the division bell had begunAlong the Long Road and on down the CausewayDo they still meet there by the CutThere was a ragged band that followed in our footstepsRunning before time took our dreams awayLeaving the myriad small creatures trying to tie us to the groundTo a life consumed by slow decay[Chorus]The grass was greenerThe light was brighterWith friends surroundedThe nights of wonder[Verse 2]Looking beyond the embers of bridges glowing behind usTo a glimpse of how green it was on the other sideSteps taken forwards but sleepwalking back againDragged by the force of some inner tideAt a higher altitude with flag unfurledWe reached the dizzy heights of that dreamed of world[Instrumental][Verse 3]Encumbered forever by desire and ambitionThere's a hunger still unsatisfiedOur weary eyes still stray to the horizonThough down this road we've been so many times[Chorus]The grass was greenerThe light was brighterThe taste was sweeterThe nights of wonderWith friends surroundedThe dawn mist glowingThe water flowingThe endless riverFor ever and ever[Instrumental][Outro]"Is that Charlie? Hello Charlie!Great..."

    অনেক নাম শুনেছি। আজকে শুনতে এলাম। প্রথম গানটাই চোখ ভিজিয়ে দিল। অসাধারণ বললে নিতান্তই কম বলা হবে। খুব ভারী গান৷ Heard of Pink Floyd a lot times. Today I got to hear their song. This was the first song, I couldn’t but cry.. Such mighty composition and lyrics I've never seen anywhere.. Worthy song

  53. Stephen Brown

I remember buying this album in a Sam Goody's in San Francisco when I was touring California. The cashier, on hearing my English accent asked the usual, Where you from question. I said England. Where abouts he asked. Pointing at the CD cover i said "About five miles from where that photo was taken". He was a huge Floyd fan and I was stuck in the shop chatting with him about Floyd. His supervisor came over to tell him to get back to work but when he explained what we were talking about she just told him not to be too long.

  54. Abir mahir

What does the meaning of this song? Somebody can explain this?

    Good Old Music

It is Gilmour's longing for the old times.

    1994: Great song!2019: Great song!3019: Great song!

  57. Philippe Cirse

Almost everything around us is a consequence of renunciation and sorrow. The writings and images on cracked walls and wall dormers that hurt the eyes represent a truth that no one will soon read or look at anymore! We are now surrounded by patronizing musician puppets blinded by other vain beliefs !

  58. Ivo Francisco González Morales

6:25 Dude... It makes me cry. David Gilmour is the best guitar player in the history, nobody, ever, will be like him; David, you changed my life.

  59. Aaron White

Listing to this song always reminds me of my childhood friends and the different paths we took in life everyone of us are so different now wish we could go back to the way it was back then.

  86. Mr. Master - Plabo

    THIS SOLOOOOOOOOO

  87. Aleksandar Grbic

I don't really know how to express my feelings while listening to this. It's so emotional and philosophical that it creates millions of questions in my head, many so complex that one can't comprehend. But behind many meanings of this song, one can realise how complicated and beautiful and yet, meaningless our lives are. All the little things we are occupied by every day, all the things we do and crave for, in the end are meaningless. All the sacrifices we make, all the ambitions we reach, we are never satisfied. It's sad seeing how united we are born and how the abstract rules of society change us, program us and give us a meaning, which is not in our true nature. Our true nature craves for love, attention, solidarity and happiness. And yet, we brought ourselves to the point of destruction, loneliness and depression. David, you are a genius. A Mozart of modern times. A true artist.

  88. Leel André

I don't know what this music video is about, but for some reason it is quite emotional for me.

Idk y but this song always made me really sad wen I was tripping. It just brings me back to my childhood and remembering how good It was when I was a kid but took a long time to realize it. I figured out the true meaning of the song without even noticing til now

  95. Aditya Chouksey

Perfect ending to the greatest band on this earth. Forever and ever.

  96. Mr12Waleed

  98. Cleomar Ribeiro

... the owners of all the riches on this planet are organized, studied, wise! Interaction with these people is very important! This leadership is eternal! The population has received benefits in some way! I am amazed, thrilled, ... attuned! With the human manifestations coming my way! I confess that I have limitations of interpretation of these manifestations!

    Cleomar Ribeiro

...the artists are a kind of the teachers of them! Of course, Picasso said: I didn't it! You did it!
