Ms. Balsom's performance went right through my heart. I am a pianist, but my evaluation is based on the effect a performance has on me. This is profound, to say the least. What a trumpet performer, what a conductor, what an orchestra, and let me not forget, what a sound engineer. Crystal clear, very, very clear sound!This is once in a lifetime performance!

Alison has done an amazing job at marketing herself. She's pretty, talented, entertaining, and awe inspiring to our youth! However, hed skill level is not quite up to par with with the requirements of this concerto: She had to modify parts to align to her ability and she left out a few of the more difficult parts. One only needs to listen to Wynton's recording. We LOVE Alison though and would not trade her fof ANYTHHING!!!!!

Ok, she's great, but this classic stuff is not something you can exactly tap your foot to. Makes me fall asleep. Is she able to play jazz at all? I'll take trumpet maestros like Dizzy Gillespie or Harry James horn playing over this stuff. They were hep cats!

Too many years ago I believe I went to state competition in solo and ensemble and received a first in class A with this song. Even my rose-colored memory of how well I think I did doesn't even come close to what she just performed. Well done.
