"Famous Part stars at..." an ouverture is an "opening". of a discussion, of a novel. you hear this now with some cartoons or advertisement. you're blind guys!hear it with the same ears of that period. beginning of the century, no other entertainment. you go at the opera and sit. and Rossini does what he always does to you when you hear it, he deceives you. like in the Gugliemo Tell. deceives the audience, wrecking it just when the audience is convinced that understood something. Trust me, born in the same city, seen several of its opera. you have to live the opera, go there to understand. don't youtube it.But you guys, your higher reference is "Tom and Jerry"? Facepalm you all!!! :)

Incredible music. I first heard the Barber of Seville back in the early 1960's when my Dad was playing his 78 rpm records. They had this on the cartoons of the Bugs Bunny Road Runner show. Classic!!!!!
