April Fools.
Navré ; c 'est bien, mais pas à la hauteur de Billy Holiday ...
The 45 flip side of "Mama Will Bark." Jeezus he was a fool to want that.
The very begging sounds like Cinderella and I can get it out of my head but I looooove Sinatra and I’m not from “billie eilish” because this is the music that should already be known and loved before anyone ever brought it up
we all have been 'fools'
Billie holiday was better
This was such great music ❤️
Here because of Tom and jerry
Dexter gordon...
Billie Eilish?
Perfection
why does this song remind me of one of disney's songs??? it sounds like cinderella idk
VINTAGE MASTERPIECE !!! 🖤❤️🖤
Wow 💞💞💞
He’s a legend ❤️❤️
take me back, i love you.
Me too I’m only here listening to this. For Billie ielish
Perfection
he's really singing from his heart. very touching. my favorite
I like this one but I love the Chet Baker version even more, don’t get me wrong the I adore Sinatra. Maybe the 1957 version is better
You can feel the pain. Amazing interpretation of this song.
Here from Billie Eilish💖❤️💖❤️💖
Billie Eilish ❤️
The begining sound like in Cinderella
Hopeless romantic..
Beautiful, many thanks. It's so hard to find his voice from the early years
........
According to James Kaplan's highly detailed book "Frank - the Voice" Sinatra was given the lyric to study before the start of the session. Then went to sing it with several personal lyric changes in one take. Then ran out of the studio with tears welling in his eyes. The writers, after hearing the performance, decided to add Sinatra's name to the authors of the piece. It is a powerful performance. One that brought the song to the other artists and all the other versions. Including my own.
i would like to sign well to sing his masterpiece
Almost cried
im here because of billie eilish
More dramatic than 1957 version
This song in memory of Ava Gardner
I was born in the wrong century
I got this sing from Billie Eilish
amazing version
rip franis
I'm a fool to want youI'm a fool to want youTo want a love that can't be trueA love that's there for others tooI'm a fool to hold youSuch a fool to hold youTo seek a kiss, not mine aloneTo share a kiss that devil has knownTime and time again I said I'd leave youTime and time again I went awayBut then would come the time when I would need youAnd once again these words I'll have to sayTake me back, I love youPity me, I need youI know it's wrong, it must be wrongBut right or wrong, I can't get along without you
That was 1952 but still looks old :-)
There is quite a difference between this recording in 1951 and the second time he recorded it in 1957, the year his divorce from Ava became final. It is said he broke down in the studio while recording it and had to come back and do it again; you can hear the pain and longing in his voice in the '57 recording and it's pitched a bit lower, (which of course a few years will do -- as he aged, he lost a few notes in the upper register but gained a few in the lower). Sinatra co-wrote this song, one of 7 he wrote or co-wrote.
This is my fav song of all time
What makes this recording great is the back story. Sinatra is not in a good frame of mind regarding his relationship with Ava Gardner at this time. Where you and I would have to work it out in private, he gets to go into a recording studio and bare his soul. It must have been cathartic for him.
Why does Ole Blue eyes have brown eyes in this pic?
Prefer Chet's version....
Kirsti Pajunen FinlandI am an old grandmother and I do not have anyone to think about when I am listening to this song, but it facinatices me. We have many versions of this song in Finland and I like best the one by Arja Koriseva.
There is no feeling, Frank just sings this.
The melodramatic background choral vocals (version here) were on the 1951 version, which I like a bit better than the 1957 version. The later version is more refined/polished, but the raw passion is greater on this 1951 version...you CAN feel Frank's pain.Ava and Frank were too much alike-- both oversexed and wont to philander. Each grew angry about the other's infidelities. She told him once: "I like you when you sing, Frank...you are honest when you sing."But they were each other's "love of my life"...and, as Nelson Riddle would say of them, "Ava made Sinatra a GREAT singer." Some couples LOVE each other, but cannot LIVE together. For the rest of her life, when she dined in NYC at one of the famous places (Sardi's?), her tab was on Frank.
damn.......
It's perfect. It's hard to believe he did it in one take as states his anecdotary.
Frank Sinatra was one of the writers of this song!
Actually it was mostly his fault he lost Ava...but man I know the heartbreak too much...we all have that one person this song goes out too!!!! Frank started it all...they say before Elvis there was nothing or the Beatles said...but NO!! Before Frank...there was nothing! Every thing we see with music today...it started with Frank!! He was th me first American Icon!!!
Much better by Tom Jones.
The greatest song by the greatest singer of all time!
Sinatra had a writing credit on this because he changed the lyric significantly when he recorded it. It's about Ava Gardner, his wife (soon-to-be-ex) at the time. Legend has it they did it in one take and then Sinatra fled the studio, speaking to no one.
Good, but not as good as the 1957 recording, for my money ...
Можно слушать бесконечно. Голос просто захватывающий.
It might be said accurately that Sinatra's rendition of this song in the 1957 Capitol Records LP 'Where Are You?' reflects his sorrow following his and Ava Gardner's divorce. This recording, however, dates from 1951, the year in which they married.
Story of my life.....
Stunning.
amazing FRANK SINATRA,and terrific version about this unforgettable song.....
angelina jordan brought me here. my daughter has her version :- ru-clip.net/video/KJHFRUNVXl4/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE.html
He did this in one take! Amazing.
Frank is in his element here. Did Frank co write this song?
!
she was the love that was there only for others . a kiss that the devil enjoyed
Damn Ava, you whipped it on him!
Wonderful!! All the sadness about Ava and the all feeling are transfigurated in melody! Love you Frank FOREVER!!!!!!!
Class they don't make them like that anymore
You can actually hear Sinatra's heart breaking. Damn Ava!
I used to hate him but then... ...
Phil Silvers was also involved in writing "i'm a fool to want you" this song as well as "Nancy with the Smiling Face"
Iam a fool thinking of someone in my past!!!!
What i wouldn't do, to be able to sing like him.
🙏
i love this song. breaks my heart in many pieces. firstable i'vw heard in billie holiday but this sinatra's version it's so dramatic. makes me cry too with the orchestration.

I'm a fool to love you this autumn. この秋貴方を愛する事に集中したい。그래요,당신을 사랑하는 저는 바보입니다. 그래도 저는 행복합니다.
This 1951 recording is good, but for a truly heartfelt performance check out his recording in 1957 with the Gordon Jenkins Orchestra. ru-clip.net/video/DX3r-nOSnN0/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE.html
Soy una tonta por quererte ...
I would have loved to hear this sung as a duet❤️
¿Porqué no se pudo clonar a este hombre?
Sure this is 1951?Franks voice has a mature timbre for `51.His Columbia voice of the 40`s and early 50`s was rather thin and reedy but this sounds like a later 50`s voice.Still I could be wrong and still a lovely performance from the Boss,as always.
yesterday he's 100 ...omg i love the jazz
Amen Ironduke!
