As I am reading these comments, there are those muslims saying they cry when they here this song when the companions would cry when they hear the Quran being recited. This musical way of delivering the message of islam was not done by the prophet muhummad peace be upon him. He didn't sit around with guitar inviting people to islam. He invited with good speach and good manners. 

Islamicly we should judge people with islamic criteria.  Who said it's not good to judge?   I ended up here some how but I'm free to voice my opinion just as you are.

I do not believe that Music has a religion, color or creed. It is universal. You do not have to understand the words to like it. I loved him when he was Cat Stevens and I love him now. Not because of who he is, but what his music means to me.
