In my childhood when I was 11/12yo, there was this pagan shop/post office in a small town of Halcyon - islanded off (dead center in the middle of a city) with a population of 20 something people. Back in the 1900's, a Theosophical temple was established and they became an unincorporated community with a farmer's market, belly dancing, and a pagan temple (which still stands). Everyday after school (sometime around the mid 90's), I would cross the river through fields of farms to go to this little shop and become immersed in the enchanting music - Blackmores night, Enya, and Loreena McKennitt playing in the background with incense burning, candles alite, and witches guarding post letters with pendulum crystals dangling all about. I would buy a muffin and loiter a little table with my journal by the stained glass window view to a small walnut grove. My childhood was HELL, but this music brings me back to beautiful moments when magic felt real ~
