I'm an American now living in Colombia and enjoy my life here immensely. I don't miss my life back in the states except when I hear a John Denver song. I lived in Colorado for years and his songs bring me back to my home country and make me miss those long lost years. God, I love his music!

I was raised at the foot of Grand Mesa in Colorado. Who can describe the majesty and beauty of the mountains,I can't. I just know that there I felt closer to God than anywhere else and this video with the gorgeous scenery brings me to tears. The song How Great Thou Art says it all!

And I buried my sweet Maggie 21 year old cockatiel under a majestic tree with several eagles nest upon in the Littleton Nature Preserve. I feel blessed to have laid her peacefully in such a majestic land where the eagles fly. She deserved the best.

We all have different opinions but I think Colorado Springs is the most beautiful place in the US and although I was born and raised in Florida I have traveled the US a great deal and nothing has beat the beauty of the west side of Colorado, or as my mom pronounced it "Colorada" and she was from there lol ... I always told her there is no "a" in Colorado ...

My moms favorite song ... I scattered her ashes at the summit of Pikes Peak as I had always promised ... She was born and raised there and then spent over 40 years in Florida with my dad and as he promised her when they retired he took her home in July 2003 but sadly she died from malpractice in November 2004 ... I thank God every single day for letting my mom live long enough to go home ... She hated Florida ... My mom was only 60 when God called her Home .... I miss you everyday mom but I carry you in my heart FOREVER!!!! You were truly the BEST!

What absolutely wonderful music. I grew to maturity listening to Joihn Denver qnd still love everything he wrote and sang with such love and skill.

Back in the 1990's I hiked up to the top of a mountain for the very first time and found this amazing beautiful view of nature.  So I camped right on that spot with this beautiful view.  That night, I dreamed it was day time again, bright and sunny, looking out again at this same beautiful mountain view.  And then off from one side, no joke, John Denver walks up to me and takes off his round glasses and puts them on me.   He did not say a word - but was just smiling at me the whole time.  He was saying without a word - now you see what I see.

Been to Colorado twice; once after travelling in the best of times; another during the worst. The latter brought a peace which folks often scoff at, but it does exist. I'm in New Jersey now, but it's past time I see those rocky mountains again. 🙂

If you listen while your in the Rockies you'll hear John singing, he'll be there as long as the Rockies.

This is a wonderful song from a wonderful singer. Had the pleasure of seeing him twice in concert in 1978 and 1981. Fantastic shows both times.
