There's an intensity and purpose about the band here, which they never regained. It sure helped that the gifted Mick Taylor was with them.

Stones are firing on all cylinders here.

Much of the over-the-top online worship of Mick Taylor and diminishment of Keith's abilities and contributions boil down to a) the false assumption, starting with Cream around 1967, that fast-fingered blues-based soloing is the only valid style of rock guitar; and b) Taylor's career since leaving the Stones has been largely DOA, which unnaturally elevates his Stones tenure in his early 20s to a place not unlike Duane Allman or Jimi Hendrix, who left behind flawless bodies of work before departing. I applaud the original Stones for giving MT a platform from which he could shine. Too bad it didn't lead to even greater things for him.
