The Universe brought them together - that sort of chemistry is a once in a lifetime thing if you're lucky. Then there's the being human side to totally screw it all up! I was in a duo that had this chemistry and impact on people - it was a really healing thing said those who know us. Our vocals were perfectly matched and the phrasing was to the breath like these two. But we weren't a couple outside of that and let me tell you - playing like this with someone is pretty close to making love if not better. I't s impossible to keep it bullshit free! Ans so it had to dissolve. One of the saddest mistakes of my life thus far. If you're lucky enough to have something like this and haven't fucked it up yet - DON'T!!

Why is it that I just found out this duo 3 or 4 weeks ago or so. I was looking for acoustic songs on Amazon and came across with them and I am hooked watching them on you tube. They are very very good!!!! Can't believe they had broken up. It had been years! Darn it! Just started playing acoustic guitar and ukulele and I appreciate this kind of music. Hope they get back together and write and play more songs because they are amazing together.

I disagree. They weren't signed to a major label when they started out, and they have talked a lot about intentionally not having handlers like you're describing. The reason they were so successful so quickly is because of the chemistry. Companies do try to manufacture it, but it rarely comes off as genuine... And the fact that they broke up so abruptly after a wildly successful debut album makes me think even more that it was b/c of something between the two of them, who are both married.

its an act dude, they look at each other that way because it makes the performance seem more genuine and it pleases the crowd. Male/Female performers like them are told to do it by the record companies.

You are right that their voices harmonize well, but come on man, you dont see the way they look at each other when they sing? They way they move the same way. This concert is even a little tempered compared to the way they typically perform, I think the reason they sound so good together is because of that chemistry.

The idea that they have 'chemistry' is nonsense. What it is, is their voices are suited to each others and so they harmonize well with each other making it simply work. Thats it. Its about pitch, nothing more. When the ear hears that fusion of complimentary sound forming tender, honest songs, it screams chemistry. Its a natural human reaction. Nothing else in the world has the power music does. NOTHING.
