Show me one bad rem song.
I'm an average middle aged Yorkshireman from England. I bought this album on release. Always has and will always be my favourite track. Absolutely sublime.
Here's the demo "find the river"https://youtu.be/yXQVbx7wRI8
The dog has no doubt found the river .
I miss the imagination and innovation of their early videos.
Masterful song writing
This is such an amazing song i will never tire of it
I sense a James Taylor vibe in this song, beautiful
One of THE most underrated songs ever written. A masterpiece
Love this💚
When this song played in 13 reasons why when tyler revealed the pictures of all the people who helped him with his trauma, it just moved me and brought me to tears. I know i need to find this song so here i am now.

Just wow! ❤️
One of my favorite songs, REM or not...just a great song with great images.
I remember listening to this song all the time when I was 11, on death's bed from appendicitis, followed by a ruptured appendice and several weeks of touch and go in the hospital. I had no idea what the meaning of the lyrics were then. Still listening to this song in my 40's now, relaying my own experience on the meaning of life to my son and appreciating this song with renewed appreciation and understanding.
I remember being a very young man in the late eighties boarding a bus heading to New York city.Feeling excited, yet a little melancholy because of some things I was going through.I slipped on my Walkman.Funny to say that now.The first song played was Fall On Me.Since then a constant love affair with these guys.T
I have got to leave to find my wayWatch the road and memorizeThis life that pass before my eyesNothing is going my way
Bill Berry's writing was second to none. Wasn't a big fan after he left. Totally different sound
lol I'm so out of touch I thought there was a member of REM named Bryce who was a rapist. Imagine my relief.....
Dommage qu ils ont arreter c est vraiment de belles chansons qui ont
That video was so sad, it was a beautiful song I ever heard
But what the hell is he singing about?
You will soon find out 👍
This looks my home Bogart Ga. Not living there now. Husband died , I sold the farmhouse
One of my favourites from the REM era.. though many of their songs were considered downbeat, they had great musicianship and their voices produced harmonies that few could match.
They don’t make songs like this anymore.
I used to wonder if this song had anything to do with Michael’s good friend River Phoenix.Absolutely gorgeous song, from a brilliant album. Used to love going to Weaver Ds in Athens and Dexter, owner, would say ‘Automatic ma’am’ 😊Thanks for the upload!
Beautiful song
Rem getting people thorough dark times since 1980
WÓW its ÁBSOLUTELY BÉÁÚTIFUL Robby...its a GÓÓD THING you speak PÓSITIVE AND PÓWER WORDS NÓW HEY..? But you have the MÓST BÉÁÚTIFUL talent...MÓST BÉÁÚTIFUL way of words and thoughts and music and your voice and how you use it too...INCRÉDIBLE AND ÁBSOLUTELY BÉÁÚTIFUL...!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chorus and the Ring on Reveal is, in essence, a much better rewrite of Find the River. Call it heresy but I feel that way.
Easily my favorite band. My favorite band for 3 years and running so I think we’re official.
Pure beauty....
classic. makes my tears run. beautiful. thanks
Sitting here during the bat flu pandemic of 2020, playing along on my uke.

I cannot thank REM enough they have helped me a lot in many situations in my life.
Brilliance
This song came on the band's EIGHT album, having barely dropped the ball once in that all time. Incredible.
Brings a tear to my eyes. Great song.
I find myself playing this song quite often. But why?
A lot of people seem to like this song. I just cannot seem to hear whatever it is that grabs people. I was a big REM fan in the 80s, into the early 90s, but, with the exception of a few songs, Automatic for the People always seemed like a disappointment. In retrospect, it was a harbinger of the long years to come. Monster was worthwhile, but really nothing after that, although I kept buying all the albums, hoping. It has been surprisingly encouraging, though, to see Michael's messages to the world in this time of the coronavirus.
Non conoscevo Stipe...sono rimasto fulminato.
Awesome song!
For anyone who is stunned by the beauty of rivers and the nature that surrounds them on their journey, this stunning song is pure magic. Best REM song, for me.
This song is just beating me up this morning. I needed it.
Love this song
Maladez
Every time I watch this video and hear the song I want to cry. I imagine the old man knows he's dying so he goes off with his dog to his favorite place, lays down and never wakes up. The song is so moving.
This truly is such a wonderful song. One of the greatest bands ever,
delicacy
Love love love this song so much. Sublime.
Automatic for the people : one of the ten best of the 90's
This song alone has brought on more existential crises, more realizations and reconciliations than any other for me, and no matter how it starts, I always leave the same. This song is audible catharsis.
buff battle boy :)
They didn't make just beautiful poetic songs, but beautiful poetic videos as well. This is one of my favorites.
Wonderful song!
Guess what? I just discovered this song. Thank you SPOTIFY.
Not an REM fan really (70’s uk punk fan)but this song has to be one of the finest ever written...it grabs you by the heart
Covid 19 brought me here :/ hope, please!
que melodia bonita
Was in rehab for 6 months in 2015, and we went into a room and turned this song on, and listened to it in silence every day at 16:00 (4 PM). Cried many times.
They are virtually unparalleled in their songwriting talents. You can't beat this.
Love this song!!
"They'res No-one left to take the Lead" 🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕🖕😝
what a song by a brilliant group
Have they found the river yet?
What can you say about this bands musical output? These many years after disbanding I pay tribute to them in ways perhaps I took for granted in my youth. They place a spotlight on the things we often do as adults. The music intersects with so many of those themes. Timeless really.
R.E.M's music is like elixir. No matter how bad you may feel, they have the magic power to change your mood in seconds. Music full of hope and dreams. Once you start listening to them you don't want to stop. Thanks to their existence.
Who said folk music died. It just went asleep to have new dreams so it can continue on the journey.
Sublime songwriting, performance and production. Total perfection.
Remember Every moment . Showtime Bowl
Bogart Ga , my soul will always be there , Lil Cat, Boots , Wally cat, and Boo boo
Remarkable.
Y'all found the river yet? If not, keep looking. All of this is coming your way.
How does this have down votes
Just entrancing.
'river to the ocean goes, a fortune for the undertow'....there's a lot of layers in that.....
R.e.m. for president?
Omg i love this song
This song always make me cry I've got to leave find my way is so true
Listening their songs just like long journey..
When nothing is right, nothing is going your way - Find the River.
REM is full of surprises. Even less-known songs are true jewels.
best r.e.m. song
Beautiful song. Haven't heard this in a long time..that album🔥🔥🔥as the kids would say now 🤘🤘
I missed out the early 90s music coz of being a baby lol,but I knew REM thru "what's the frequency Kenneth" and a few other awesome songs of theirs. But never really listened or gotten into them fully.Decades later,I m deciding to binge on REM to compensate on what I 've missed out on 😍💞💞💞💞
Bill Berry playing bass....very talented musician! All of them were wonderful together. We miss you so bad REM, but love your music for ever.
I love this song and the video in their entirety. But the soaring background vocals are what I find particularly appealing as well! This is among my favorite R.E.M songs, but I also like 'Oh My Heart', 'At My Most Beautiful' and 'Man On The Moon' and the list just goes on and on... and many more as well.
Loved this for years now. Used to listen and imagine all sorts would come my way. Then it all did, started with I fell asleep at my flat listening to this album thinking why don't any of my old friends ring me. Woke up to phone ringing and it was my old friend inviteing me to her party. Then all come my way. I got some ruff acoustic tunes on here put in Ross Heathorn merry go round or Ross Heathorn flattery or Ross Heathorn devil in me. I got like 12 tunes no love songs. Theres a song about love but it ain't a love song. Punk Folk mc
Melhor álbum da Banda. Saudades R.E.M
Beautyfull
Listening to REM again decades later and 8873 miles from home. Caught overseas for the fifth Christmas in a row. My new wife wants to see snow but we simply can NOT afford the air tickets, gifts and everything else. Thinking of listening to REM around the tree during holidays. Have a wonderful Christmas USA and Canada across the pond.
WoW 😍😍
river poet, search naivete..
