Very nice
Best Accoustic Performance
One of my best Zeppelin songs, ever.
Page is unique and brilliant!
com certeza
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I hate to be one of those kids but god damn. The beauty of this song will never be created again. Discovering Zeppelin at 18 has truly changed me as a person. The musicianship is astounding. Page, like the cover of HOTH, an alien. No human could possibly have created such a breath taking chord progression
Old person here. It is hard to truly appreciate how ahead of their time they were....
Michael lee on drums he dig it..
"You Did It. You Crazy Son of a Bitch, You Did It"
Magical and heart touching!
Holyshit!
what a beautiful song that found a special place in my heart. i may be 16 but i believe my soul’s older and has affection for such mystical and homely songs like this.
You don't have to be from a certain generation to appreciate musicianship, and most importantly, their emotion in music
7:03 I would like to have that pick right now...Awesome song, always getting goosebumps while listening it
What year was this performance ?
@Mike Jacker да, точно!
August 94'. A month before I was born
Houses of the Holy was a transcendental album, but this song put LedZep miles beyond anything of its time. My young mind was blown. Still gives me chills when I hear it!
At the end Robert looks at Jimmy and moves his head like :” Yeah brother that was really fine”
Amazing performance!
Jimmy is such a distinctive and underrated acoustic player too. God this was great.
I disagree he's acoustically underrated. Among guitar players, he's held pretty high
i love the story how, i think it was George Harrison? said to Jimmy Page, "why don't you ever do a ballad?" And this is what he wrote. exquisite.
CinnabarSwan1 And as a tribute to George Harrison he chose the first two chords in Rain Song the same as the first two chords in The Beatles Something
Your not worth my children no man is ever
No date? When was this?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/No_Quarter:_Jimmy_Page_and_Robert_Plant_Unledded
Perfection!
My Witness and best friend love of my life and everything happens for a reason I'm sure he would love you to help his sister get home safely You have to think about it and let me know because I have to get ready and I don't want anyone by my side but you 💜💣
Obra prima
um br muito bom.
anyone else thinks that an entire orchestra couldn't replace Bonzo and JPJ?
Simply the best I love Roberts nod at the end
Love this song.
Symphony that can hold my heart is timeless 🙏
No matter how many times I hear this song..............It gets me every time. Every Time.
Me too.
It's always a different part but yes, it will grab you up by the scruff... Every time
What a beautiful song.i love it.i saw a tribute band sing it.just perfect. Thanks so much.!!👍😁💡
Wow I never saw this until now. I've played the song a million times in my truck but never saw it performed live like this! Wow what a masterpiece!!
SDAWG check out the version from tstrts concert. It’s even better!
beautiful
Should of had John Paul Jones there.
Joe Guns they instead, had an entire orchestra😂
And Jason Bonham, ideally. 🤔
Brilliant
And Timeless
Saw em live in ‘77, and lemme tell you: they stunk. It was terrible. No Dazed and Confused. Just 24 minutes of bow noises. No Moby Dick, just a 26 minute drum solo. They were on stage an hour b4 they played a recognizable song. They wait till NOW to learn how to play their songs live? About time.
What a crock!
Some of their early live stuff you can find here on youtube wasn't that great either.
Best their song I think.
Robert wanted to stand up so bad
I know, he's so stuck on himself. I've always loved Led Zep, but I had to get older to realize Plant was like that. He'd be nothing without the band, especially without Jimmy Page, who remains fabulous and humble to this day.
Drummers on it!
PERFECTION !!!!!!!!
Complete musical greatness on that stage. All of them especially Jimmy and Robert.
The 4:43 minute mark and the ensuing 50 or so seconds thereafter is one of the best if not the best moments in musical recording history.
I never tire of this song.... Brilliant.
For those that practice, I ran a basic life path numerology compatibility for Page (LP 1) and Plant (LP5), Excellent. As if there was any doubt? Funny how it confirmed it.
Love that cheeky pick throw for the finger picked outro!
Awesome!
I am glad to see fine Artists mature. I feel that they embrace more subtle, and meaningful images and feeling in their work. I remember when Metallica made their album with the symphony back up, Full Orchestra. Nice, yet so many of the traditional Metallica Fans seems to view it with displeasure, even criticizing their selling out of some earlier architype of Rebellion to be somehow Main Stream. Like Metallica or Led Zeppelin could ever be that. But the Musicians continue to create and explore and develop and mature Musically and Artistically. If they are to endure the test of Time, they inevitably reinvent themselves.
Remember Neda don’t forget that Led Zeppelin members were incredible musicians and the harmony between them. This version is beatufull, but it’s not “real LED Zeppelin” (this is obviously not an injure to this version)
Happy Birthday, Robert Anthony Plant August 20th, 1948. I hope you continue to grow and contribute Musically to this world for a long, long, time.
Can't tell you how much I love this song and video....amazing wish I could have seen this live !
Sorry to her, the Lady, but Stairway is not their best. This in my most humble opinion has the most moving melody. When a song touches the depth of my lost life, of the times I had and are now gone, forever. I wish you all a fine life, and long and loving times with friends and family that I will not be joining until they come to me in the afterlife. So embrace all that you hold dear, my Dearest Ones.
Kashmir is their best song for many instrumental and musical theory reasons
You can’t definitively say one song is better than another, Led Zeppelin isn’t that kind of band. I have a new favorite song of theirs every few months! They are all wonderful and cant really be compared in that way. It’s all good music why make the choice.
Absolutely Awesome
Omg.. this was like 1973 MSG all over again and I barely appreciated it.. Now???? Omg....... 😞😞😞😞😞😞😞😞😞
Can someone tell me if this song was written for his first ex-wife's sister Shirley, who then became his baby mom years later? Just curious.
what an awesome melody!!!!
When Jimmy throws the pick down....
What year was this performed ?
During the 90's...maybe? I don't know entirely
Wow! 😲To be at the concert live! Goosebumps.
WAHOOOOOO AND WAHOOOOO AND... WAAAAAAAAAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Sublime ! 🐒
“George Harrison was talking to Bonzo one evening and said, and ‘The problem with you guys is that you never do ballads.’ I said, 'I’ll give him a ballad,' and I wrote ‘Rain Song,’ which appears on Houses of the Holy. In fact, you’ll notice I even quote ‘Something’ in the song’s first two chords.” - Jimmy Page, Light and Shade: Conversations with Jimmy Page.
I'm here because WhatCulture just mentioned that in a video
Ten Years Gone and The Rain Song are the two greatest rock ballads of all time
uno dei brani piu belli in assoluti dei led zeppelin con una performance alla chitarra di un mostro come jimmy page accompagnato dalla magica voce di robert plant . LEGEND
RIP Michael Lee...the brightest stars burn the shortest.
Well, it helps to refrain from drugs.
This song always gets me teary eyed. 19 year old girl rock still lives on
gets more emotional in the winter of life
Lol I know what you mean! and I'm 39!
How brave are you John McEwen
So, so lovely. I have no words, only emotions. I am 67 years old and this resonates deeply within me and transports me to my younger days. Thank you.
Best live performance of any song in my opinion
I agree
The more I listen - the better this gets
Legends
The four breaks at 6:12 are legendary
Meu Deus... preciso de um botão de 1000 Likes. Bravo... Bravíssimo.
Fabulous version. Brilliant from Michael Lee on drums....RIP dude, you left much too soon.
Who put Steve-O on stand up bass?
Lmao. weird because I was just saw the thumbnail for a Steve-o video before I clicked this video
Saved my life in Afghanistan. The music kept us sane, and this was the song that kept me sane and on an even keel, thank God and Led Zeppelin. Rest in peace to my comrades who didn't make it back. With gratitude and thanks, much obliged, Led Zeppelin.
rampart : this song de-stress's me ... thank you for serveing we all have to fine our moment of sanity||||||||
Thanks Rampart for your service. "Upon us all...a little rain must fall"....unfortunately, sometimes there is too much rain in life for some. Glad this helped you. Zep on....
That Robert's nod at the end is priceless. And well deserved too.
I didn't think that nod was great. Plant is so stuck on himself and Jimmy Page made the song. Sorry!
@Cathy There is no need to be sorry if two people have different opinions. I respect your opinion and I suppose you respect that of mine.
This song is so beautiful it makes me cry.
i really love this song with all my heart
This is stunning. Absolutely amazing melody. One of the best from Jimmy Page.
Si sos Englewood
7:02 only the real guitarist found this move is important
Jimmy rips. Doesn’t miss a nite. Thank you for live musi. Te talent and artist
Wizard on guitar 👏
I bet when this released in 1973 the record label said "we need another stairway to heaven like song" for the new album. And this is what Pagey came up with.
i thnk this is a thousand times better
This blows Stairway out of the water dude....
Pretty sure george Harrison or someone asked why they dont have any ballads
At some point in the history of our magical universe members of the Beatles and Led Zeppelin collided. When George Harrison and John Bonham crossed paths apparently Harrison couldn't wait to point out Zeppelin's one major flaw, he said "the problem with your band is you don't play any ballads" so for Zeppelin's next album Houses of the Holy they produced this!
Rest in peace. My beloved brother Gene.
the best song in the world
Led Zeppelin=Proof of the existence of God
There are good songs, there are great songs, and then there's The Rain Song...
Well said :)
Most underrated Zeppelin song!!!
Definitely. I remember when I first got into Zep, thinking they were just a heavy rock band, then heard this!! Beautiful.
Better than Stairway to me... believe it or not.
@Mirko Rokyta Me too.
7:02 is awesome
Evelyn Stohler ...and Plant’s nod at the end “we nailed this”
....and it’s a tough one. I've got dozens of Zep bootlegs and JP didn’t always nail the ending like this...superb version.
I think its funny when I play zep on guitar people want Metallica. Then I say. We can't hang out sorry bro. You have growing up to do
I've said it before I'll say it again. How many bands do you know when a member dies. They stop no more. REAL MEN. To me. The best. Zep. AndVH forever
Memories of my first love.. I'll always love him.. ❤️❤️
You sound like the woman every man should have beside him
@Bob Ravenscraft how could I argue with that...
So not your mom, dad or anyone?
I wonder if Robert Plant ever looks over & thinks Wow that's f-ing Jimmy Page : - )
No he says that's Jim my friend
Probably at least once, when a 20 year old robert was named vocalist of the led balloon, hey im with f**ing jimmy page
And then both look at the back and think, Wow that's John fucking Bonham :o
Gigi Co love you
Jimmy ... the GENIUS. The best guitarist EVER!
Best but not the best bro..
@Sujan Sitaula ... I don't give a shit for those who "learn" music via mtv and other shit sub products.
One of my fav bands of all time. Page was a very solid guitarist and probably great but his genius came from creating songs. His music will go down in history. He's a modern day Chopin or Beethoven.
@Murilo Goulart bro i am just telling you from my point of view why are you mad bro jimmy page yes he is awsome but for me no..
The nimblist nine fingers in history. His hands were insured for 1/2 billion.
Awesome live performance. ..and RIP...to drummer Michael Lee....he was AMAZING
@jim dartouzos Thanks for all your info I appreciate you taking the time....2008 hes been a little while..at least we have this Fabulous footage of his great contribution to Rock and Roll and the second legend to led Zeppelin s History Lightning I'm Sorry 2 See Does Strike Twice...Thanks again Jim....
@Gigi Co You're welcome Gigi Co.....I'm glad to help with questions about things....Michael Lee left us too soon...but like you said...at least we have this great footage of him playing with Plant & Page.
@jim dartouzos you know Robert Did and Jimi for that matter did not invite The Great J.P.Jones to Play At The O2 and MTV...Jonesy Even Made Comments about It He Let Charlie Jones Play Instead (his daughter Carmen's Husband...Any Clue why ?I Read I Think zit Was A&E That J.P.Jones Did Not Attend Robert's Young Sun Karak Funeral I Wonder was That The Reason? Jim If U Know The y 2 This Story Due Tell....And Happy 4th of July 2 U.......gina....
@Gigi Co That's an interesting story Gigi Co....always loved JPJ....I'll get back to you on that...if I can find any info...and you have a Safe and Happy 4th of July also.
Yes Gigi Co. I believe you are right about JPJ...Plant was upset about JPJ...and Page not attending his son's funeral....
drummer is great too
John Paul Jones & Paul Gilbert - Going to California https://youtu.be/J8WpL5eHFkM
Beautiful
Acoustic versions like these help you appreciate Led Zeppelin a lot more for their simplistic genius...@Angelina Hunsaker
thanks for sharing...kickass
btw, ann and Nancy tear this song up...it's a must watch
@James LaCasse I was actually slightly disappointed by the Wilsons' version, but this performance sets a high bar.... this is the best live performance of any song by any band that i have ever seen. It is simply perfect.
