I watched this film and hopefully I will read this book also but just wanted to say one thing and leave it out here as a secret anonymous confession.I had a boyfriend once who in a weird way resembled Heath Ledger.We had been on and off for one year and we fought a lot.He was close to another friend of mine who submerged him in the world of drugs.They were doing straight for a lot of days pills marijuana and alcohol.I know what they did doesn’t come close to a heroin addiction but he was dependent and teared apart by what he did.We met one cold night at an abandoned building where they would smoke and drink and I would almost had fallen down from a window had not he been there.And then we kissed and kissed and I remember being so happy that finally met someone that I like in a genuine way.We used to hang out together.He introduced me to his friends and I would usually take photos of him while smoking marijuana .Then he would forget me for days being off with my friend doing drugs and completely not answering to me.When he was ready to face me I was angry and when I was ready to face him he would be angry with me.I remember characteristically one time that he told me to come over to his house and I replied that I don’t hang out with dudes who fuck for weed.It was tumultuous.When we were together it was a candid and intriguing experience but we could not adhere a lot.We would split and not talk to each other.He finally cut it off on my birthday day when I expected to meet him and he didn’t even bother to wish me “happy birthday “ .I was not mad.I could see that he was out of his mind.He would lie to me that he stopped hanging out with my friend who gave him the drugs and I would made fun of him for being such a fool and thinking that he is “someone “ .I was past the phase of glamorizing drugs and saw the brutal reality in the eyes of some of my friends before he did.🍒So we called it off officially while the summer seized our minds.He went to another city to study.🍒 When I watched the movie I immediately was reminded of him.All of our moments together were intoxicated.Looking back at the pictures there wasn’t even one that he was sober.Kind at heart and good looking he still makes me thing of him sometimes.I send him a message asking him If he is coming back to town for Holidays and asked to meet him.He was reluctant.He said he doesn’t wants to give promises that he may not fulfill.Anyway I am not embittered by his words.I know that by my side I did everything I could and was (brutally )honest.Sorry for occupying so much space in the comment section but artwork from Mermaid Motel wakes up my inner feelings.Hope you read this comment and everyone of you just keep doing what you do best because life goes on and comes around! 🌃

Wow. Putting that song together with that movie really cuts deep. I came home from work one day...just to find out my fiance also had left...with another guy and just got deeper into drugs and alcohol. Its been well over a year now n unlike the movie im never gunna see her again. Wouldnt want to. The memories like at the end of this song do come and go and will always hurt as much as the first time.
