@Ultimulmort you are very welcome my friend.. Greeks and Romanians we have a lot of mutual traditions especially in our orthodox church but also in music.. Greek music has a lot of influences from all Balkans and Romania as well... Ticalos sounds like ti Kalos means what a good guy but to be honest am not thinking this is the root of the word..

The song was written by theArmenian musician Marko Melkon, born Marko Alemsherian in Smyrna in 1895. He lived in Greece for a while before emigrating to America in 1921.

That is interesting, thanks George. My Grandfather came from mixed Turkish/Greek stock and knew a lot of the history of the music and tought me a thing or two. I love it.

She is openly singing a Greek song (written nonetheless by an Armenian -I did not know that) -and she sings many Greek songs and honors them with her voice and soul. Plus "the Turks" is a bit simplistic as an assumption, anyway... The Turks", "the Greeks"... Do you really think we are all that different from "the Turks"? Our (common) music, for one, says otherwise...
