I was afraid that when she signed her deal, they would change her. I've never wished I was wrong more. Now she has masters to answer to. Her voice is no longer hers.😭🌧💔

This is actually not the case. She did not feel comfortable with the song Conqueror and was pressured by the record company to include it on her first album. In the documentary Once Aurora she very strongly tell her manager that if she is ever pressured like that again she will quit being an artist. There is also another part in the documentary where the record company is not happy with a song and she refuses to give in, saying that she knows best how her songs should sound and be structured. Sure she is evolving and trying new things, but her voice is still her own.

@MotherStoneHeart You can say what you want but I still say the only way artists can stay true to themselves is WITHOUT a manager or a record deal, no publicist. It would take a little longer to reach the world, but someone with her talent would have made it without all the demons that surround her. I know it can be done. Look at Tom McDonald. He's blowing up and he refuses to sign with anyone. Wont even take a manager and he's one of the best rappers in the business right now. I dont even like rap, but I love Tom. His words are inspiring, AND THEY'RE ALL HIS.

Pagliacci Mr Clown, AURORA never wanted to be an artist of fame, she was just happy writing her own songs ... the fact that she took the chance of exposing herself to the world was a very brave thing to do, hardly the action of someone that has sold out as you are implying. There are challenges that come with being a musical artist these days, especially with the magnifying glass of social media scrutinizing her every move, every answer she gives in interviews. Shouldn’t we be happy that she is successful and that her music has reached so many people (people whose lives have been made better by it) than holding her up to some impossible ideal...? you sound more like a purity zealot than an actual fan ... take a moment and breathe, we’ll all be better for it. 🙂🦋✨

@aeropilot You misunderstand me. She could have done it all without managers and publicists and record labels. When you drop a mouse in a tank full of snakes, the mouse gets eaten. I wish she had done it without signing. Now, she has people that tell her what to do, where to go, what to wear, what to sing. It's possible to make it without all those snakes. They ruin good artists. The whole business is corrupt. That's why I admire Tom McDonald so much. I was watching Aurora before any of you knew she was alive. The machine is changing her whether you want to admit it or not.

@Pagliacci you can have a Team including Manager if you know them well trust them like they are your friends you know. If I Was an artist I would hope to have good friends that were there before already optimaly that I trust and have good relationship with and let them work for me in terms of managing stuff for me. Planning tours all that what I don't have time and energy to do. I think that would be the best thing to do. I don't think doing everything by yourself is a solution that's exhausting its importent to have team around you to be successful . But agree I wouldn't sign to a record label or give power over me to people I don't realy know and trust to have my best interest in mind and not just their own.
