@Silvia B. Yeah, sorry, that's not a valid argument. It already had over 100 million before Eurovision and San Remo winners always get an insane number of views. Francesco Gabbani's Occidentali's Karma from 2017 for instance has 250 million views and it finished 6th.

@Regulus Arcturus I was just wondering without arguments but Duncans votes are split between his final and winners performances but people are just viewing Mahmoods only one performance,his final and that has to be applauded amazingly because Mahmood has more views despite coming 2nd and has been most watched in July and August...Separate issues are YouTube views,Duncans is 20m and Mahmood is 128m but only 2 Eurovision Italian songs,Occidentali's Karma and now the unique,cool Soldi have done acceptinally great-Any way both Mahmood and Duncan are both doing well after Eurovision....

I see comments like this “they are only sing in their language we should respect them they never have sang in english” Thats why italians thinks that English are useless. In my opinion this action is very silly! They dont even learn english. English is the language that all people can communicate! Italians thinks that if tourists come to italian they have to learn italiano! But when they travel abroad most of them they cant even communicate and talk with people! They only know their language. My dear.... I am Italian and speak English fluently. Most people understand how important English as the international language is. Not many Italians speak it well though and this is a real shame, but our kids are getting better at it. Yet we all singing in Italian ... emotions are expressed in our own language. Lyrics are essential in Italian music... and our language is both rhytmical and melidious. Most of all our culture is our culture... we willingly share it with the rest of the world, yet we produce it in our language. Opera does ring a bell... doesn't it? Cultural omologation is not an enrichment, in my opinion, an international language for global communication is. But they are 2 very different things. And all of Mahmood's songs are easily available in Enlgish. A click and you've got the ready available translation.☺

I am italian and speak spanish, french, english, portuguese and Japanese. We italians have always prefered spanish and french. Our music is in italian and we don't see why we should give power to english and accept their virtual cultural power. No wonder that latin music is becoming a eorldwide phenomenon while the american/english music is losing positions in the international charts. In Italy only the 7% of english/american music can be found in the charts. And yes, like in france and Spain, tourists must force themselves to speak our language the same way we do when we go in London or New York. Do they speak the languages of all the tourists that visit their cities?
