The best part is the use of "God Save the Tsar" at 3:15 as blasted by the lower brass. I'm not sure if it was still the Russian National Anthem at the time Tchaikovsky wrote, probably was. But in the 1830's or 40's, earlier than Tchaikovsky wrote this, an Englishman used the same tune for a hymn called "God the Omnipotent" that is in the hymnals of a lot of British and American churches to this day.
