They said Beyoncé had no business being up there singing that song and they sided with Etta James that there are times in this business where you want to do something because you need the exposure or you just want to be up there for that moment but you just can’t be selfish you gotta go with tradition you gotta go consider the other artist.There’s a right time to step out on the stage and then there’s a time you got to bow out and this is one of those times that they felt she should’ve said no ! get Etta this is that womans song this is her big moment not mine. they said Beyoncé had no business being up there singing that womans song and they sided with Etta James that there are times in this business where you want to do something because you want the exposure or you just want to be up there for that moment in history but you just can’t be selfish you gotta go with tradition you gotta go with the flow . Especially, considering that some of these performers had to work Jim Crow audiences, and enter back doors. So that Beyoncé can have the career she has.She said it’s selfish and in poor taste. Even, if they requested her because shes not known in this genre of song. And had not paid her dues like Etta had even with her problems. Unfortunately, this will happen to Beyoncé someday the music business never forgets. Mind you most of these performers they all like Beyoncé but they said she should’ve got Etta on the phone before committing. And told the White House or whoever was booking the production that right is right and wrong is very wrong . Beyoncé had the power to make this right but she blew it or perhaps she had someone in her ear but either way she blew an opportunity to give the world stage to an old lady who had been singing for decades one last time .
